Cubs Baseball Games

Attending Cubs baseball games at Wrigley Field is a classic Chicago experience! Even if you don’t have tickets to the game, there's plenty to enjoy in Wrigleyville. The neighborhood is known for its lively atmosphere on game days, with numerous bars and restaurants offering a great alternative to being at the stadium. Whether you're catching the game from a local bar or exploring the vibrant scene around Wrigley Field, you're sure to have a memorable time soaking in the baseball spirit.

How to get there: If you live in Chicago, you know that parking in Wrigleyville is scarce and expensive on game days. If you live in one of our Lakeview apartments, you can beat the traffic and crowds by simply walking to Wrigley Field. The stadium is also easily accessible by train or bus. How to get there: One of the perks of Guaranteed Rate being a little further out of the city, is they have expansive parking lots that make driving there and parking a breeze. If you’d like to take the CTA, we recommend taking the Red Line and getting off at the Sox-35th stop.

Lollapalooza, held annually in Chicago's Grant Park, is a premier music festival showcasing a diverse lineup of genres from alternative rock to hip hop and EDM. With its scenic venue and vibrant atmosphere, Lollapalooza offers an unforgettable experience for music lovers. Whether you're discovering new artists or seeing your favorites perform live, attending Lollapalooza promises days filled with incredible music, food, art, and a sense of community that's truly electrifying. It's the ultimate summer destination for anyone seeking to immerse themselves in the thrill of live performances and festival energy.

How to get there: Lollapalooza takes place at Grant Park, located in the heart of downtown Chicago. This makes it easy to hop on a train or bus to the Loop and walk over from there. This festival is also easy to access from the suburbs via Metra train. If you want to beat the packed train cars, hopping on a Divvy bike is also a great way to get to and from the festival.

Chicago's Soldier Field and Northerly Island are iconic venues that host unforgettable concerts throughout the year. Soldier Field, nestled along the lakefront, offers a historic backdrop with its sweeping views of Lake Michigan and the city skyline, creating a mesmerizing setting for live music under the stars. Northerly Island, a unique peninsula transformed into a concert oasis, provides an intimate outdoor experience with the cityscape as its backdrop. Living nearby these venues means having easy access to world-class performances by top artists across various genres, from rock and pop to electronic and beyond. Whether you're catching a summer blockbuster concert at Soldier Field or enjoying a breezy evening at Northerly Island's Pavilion, living in Chicago means always being close to the pulse of live music and cultural excitement.

How to get there: Of course you can always Uber or drive to a concert at either of these venues. Or, you can skip the car and hop on a water taxi for an added adventure instead. This is the perfect way to start out your fun evening of hearing some great music at an awesome outdoor venue.

Chicago Air and Water Show

The Chicago Air and Water Show is a thrilling spectacle that takes place annually along the city's stunning lakefront. Held typically in August, the Air and Water Show showcases impressive aerial displays by military and civilian aircraft, including daring stunts and breathtaking formations that fill the sky above Lake Michigan. As jets roar overhead and watercraft perform graceful maneuvers on the water below, attendees are treated to an exhilarating experience of aviation prowess and maritime finesse. Whether you're a longtime Chicagoan or visiting the city for the first time, the Air and Water Show promises a weekend of excitement, family fun, and the chance to witness the extraordinary skill of pilots and performers against the backdrop of Chicago's iconic skyline.

How to get there: If you’ve been in Chicago for a past air and water show, then you know that you can see (and hear) the planes from just about anywhere in the city. If you want to experience the full show, we recommend going to the lakefront to watch. Reside has a handful of properties that have rooftops with lake views, so you can watch the show from the comfort of your home. We also have many locations that are walking distance to the lake. If you’re a little further west, we recommend taking the bus or biking down to the lakefront to enjoy a fun day of sun entertainment.

These are just a few highlights of what Chicago has to offer in the summer. With a calendar packed full of events and activities, you'll never have a dull moment.
